The British Hairdressing Awards are probably the most prestigious Award ceremonies in the world. Known as the Hairdressing Oscars. Many previous past winners have become household names, such as Anthony Mascolo, Trevor Sorbie & Nicky Clark. From many thousands of entries just six nominees per category are finalized. Each has to send another collection of their work to produce a cohesive collection of 8 photos in total. These are judged anonymously and the winner announced at a Glittering black tie ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. Hosted by a different celebrity each year, the night is fun, glamorous and exciting. This year Karen was nominated for British Colour Technician of the Year. She was asked to produce a collection of 8 models showing before and after photos and how and why she had coloured their hair. She made it to the final six in the whole country and although didn’t walk away with the title, a little dicky bird informs us she very, very, very nearly did. Lets hope 2007 will see her get there!
